Grand Forks Downtown Street Fair

Over 40 years the Downtown Fargo Street Fair has grown from a sidewalk sale to attracting 120,000 visitors. Forum file photo. One of the many reasons people are looking for new homes in Grand Forks ND is because the city combines the fun and convenience of a big city with the close-knit bond of a smaller community. Attractive and welcoming, Grand Forks is an ideal place for people of all ages to call home, especially with all of the events regularly taking place, including the upcoming Grand Forks Downtown Street Fair.

This brand new street fair is taking place September 9-10 in downtown Grand Forks. Sponsored by the Grand Forks Downtown Development Association, this free event will feature artisans, vendors, music and more, from all across the country and even Canada.

Visitors will have a chance to enjoy the wide variety of food, crafts, and other items available, all within one convenient, walkable location. More than 30,000 people are expected to attend the two-day event and the quality of vendors and performers will more than meet the needs of so many people. Plus, visitors have a chance to talk to the skilled craftspeople and artisans whose work will be on display and for sale, with items ranging from artisanal jewelry to handcrafted, natural bodycare products. Prizes will also be awarded for Best of Show, Most Interactive, and People’s Choice, so that everyone has a chance to really get involved.

As well as all of the unique and appealing items to be found to add a personal touch to the new homes in Grand Forks ND, there will be a Taste of the Fair event that will tempt the taste buds of every visitor, with both savory and sweet items, including hot turkey croissants and mini donuts.

It’s not all eating and shopping, though. There is plenty to keep kids and adults entertained throughout both days. On Friday, there will be entertainment throughout the day, including plenty of kids activities and a performance at 5 p.m. by Blind Joe from The Voice. On Saturday, Sean Emery, a kids/family act will be performing at 2 p.m., followed by a street dance starting at 7:30 p.m., with performances by Boomtown and Rhyme or Reason.

This fantastic street festival is just one of the many events regularly taking place in Grand Forks. From farmers’ markets to monthly music concerts, yoga on the Greenway to Grand Forks’ own Escape Room, there is always something going on to appeal to all of the city’s residents. Join in and experience the wonderful sense of community to be found in Grand Forks.
