Family Fall Fun in Grand Forks ND

If you’re moving to the Grand Forks area and are purchasing one of our homes in Grand Forks ND, you may not be familiar with all of the family fun available. Fortunately, families with members of all ages are sure to find plenty of fun fall activities this year.

Now is a great time to grab your bicycles and head out on some of the many trails. With more than 20 miles of groomed trails and 2,220 acres of scenic outdoor space, The Greenway of Greater Grand Forks is a perfect place for cycling, as well as walking and inline skating. In addition, you can enjoy golfing, fishing, wildlife observation and more. A popular place to start your ride or walk is at Riverside Park finishing up near Restaurant Row/The Boardwalk in Downtown East Grand Forks. You can refuel and refresh in some great restaurants. Even if you don’t have a bicycle, you can find rentals through Grand Rides Bike Share located throughout the city.

Test your a-maze-ing skills at this year’s Valley Corn Maize! This event is full of fun and activities for all ages. Beside the challenge of the 10-Acre Corn Maze and Kids Straw Maze, be sure to check out the straw climbing pyramid for children and adults, corn cannons, and even a grain-train to ride on. There are also special events each weekend including Touch a Tractor Weekend (October 7 & 8), Canines in the Corn (October 14 & 15) and Flashlight Dash Night (October 22). Food and drinks are available to keep up your strength and mental acuity or simply just to enjoy. The festival hours are 4 to 7 PM on Fridays, 10 AM to 7 PM on Saturdays, and 1 to 6 PM on Sundays. Admission is $11 per person, with kids 36” & under free.

While there’s a pumpkin patch and more, including a haunted house, at Nelson’s Pumpkin Patch, it’s located west of the city in Emerado. It’s certainly a great event for the whole family, but if you want something a little closer, consider the latest addition to the city’s fall attractions with the Patch on the Point at Paradise Stables. Besides choosing the perfect pumpkins at one of the largest pumpkin patches, there are free horse-drawn wagon rides, $5 pony rides, and a petting zoo. Other activities include an adventure trail, lawn games, a 100-foot super slide, a tricycle/pedal GoKart track, and more. Don’t miss out on all this family fun. Patch on the Point is open through October 22, 5:30 to 7:30 PM on Thursdays & Fridays, 11 AM to 7 PM on Saturdays, and 11 AM to 5 PM on Sundays. The entrance fee is $7 per person and free for little ones under 2 years of age. There are also food trucks on hand to keep you well fed.

These are just a few of the many events and activities this fall. Whether you’re new to the area, having just bought one of our homes in Grand Forks ND or are looking for fall inspiration, you’re sure to find plenty of great family fun.
